Position Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for accounts payable and other accounting functions of the organization.  This position will partner with individuals across the entire organization to assist in areas such as vendor payments, foster parent payments, expense reimbursements, GL coding and vendor relations.  We are looking for someone that has professionalism, flexibility and a willingness to take direction in support of the Accounting team. This is currently a part time (25 hrs/week), hybrid position at TLC’s main campus in Sebastopol.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for full-cycle accounts payable, including vendor invoices, employee expense reimbursements, foster parent payments and THP related expenses
  • Manages credit card reconciliation process
  • Manage all credit card transactions, verifying supporting documents for each transaction and downloading/saving all documents
  • Manages fixed assets
  • Tracks all costs associated with capital projects and grants/contributions
  • Assist with month-end Close, reconciliations and journal entries
  • Provide assistance with the external annual audit
  • Complete annual 1099s
  • Complete general office duties associated with the position, such as filing, scanning, faxing and mailing
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned by the Controller or CFO

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters of the agency operations including clients, parents and employees
  • Attentive, ability to work independently, and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in the performance of duties and responsibilities
  • Reliable, good work ethic, high integrity, strong communication skills

Qualifications:

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
  • Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of MS Excel/Word and accounting systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting

Agency Requirements:

  • Obtain and maintain fingerprint, government and agency required background clearances, without additional exemptions
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screen
  • Valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and auto insurance showing employee as an insured driver on the policy
